This particular e36 convertible is an acquaintance of ours and has been coming to our workshop for many years. This BMW convertible in new condition needs an introduction: The previous owner has owned it since 2017 and was emotionally very attached to his car and its iconic 90's design. Still, the owner hesitated to buy an e36 M3 but instead wanted a restomod sleeper which would not stand out but be special enough to amaze. For that reason, the plan was born to completely rebuild his current BMW convertible. The basis was a very neat rust free original Dutch delivered E36 that has always been stored indoors. From that point on, everything but everything was modified and improved. Think of:
Engine: The engine is a completely rebuilt 328i engine modified with a faster camshaft from the E36 M3, different pistons, connecting rods, bearings, ARP bolts, better rubbers etc. etc. Radiator has been replaced for a Mishimoto radiator. Everything is built with heavier performance parts. BS Engines in Bleiswijk built this engine.
Exhaust: Full Supersprint stainless steel exhaust system incl. Supersprint exhaust manifolds and sportcats.
Clutch: New lighter flywheel with 30% heavier Sachs pressure group and new clutch plates.
Differential: New E36 M3 differential with 40% lock for smooth and short transmission. Built up with sintered performance lock plates, Royal purple oil.
Suspension: Fully adjustable suspension from H&R, all wishbones, rubbers, stabilizer bars replaced for new and improved where possible.
Exterior: Car has a Gyeon ceramic coating, yellow (French) headlights and is in very good condition.
Rims: The very rare BMW e34 M5 turbine rims, completely repainted with new Michelin Pilot sport tires. (A good used set easily costs 3500,-).
Interior: leather has been re-colored and the wooden handles, handbrake and gearshift have been custom fabricated.
Audio: high end Pioneer DEX-P99RS radio, German Meastro speakers amplified by Mosconi DSP and amplifiers and custom JL Audio subwoofer.
Bottom: The e36 has undergone a complete bottom renovation with new pipes, heat shields, coating and is like new again.
Other: Car is further equipped with full Dynamat sound attenuation, Clifford alarm system, tinted glass, incl a dark window in the convertible top.
After completing this restoration, this car has been used purely as a cruiser and has driven only 5000 kilometers. In short, a unique opportunity to buy a BETTER AS NEW BMW e36 328i convertible.
The total restoration has cost approximately 50.000,- and the car has an appraisal (insurance) value of: € 63.000,-.
