The BMW Z3 was launched in the Netherlands in the spring of 1996. Initially, two engines were available. The pressures of both engines were nothing to write home about. The 1.8i produced 115 hp, which for 1,200 kilograms is not overpowered. It's fine, but a bit of a standard Opel Astra with a 1.8 was just as quick to 100 km/h: 10.5 seconds. The Mazda MX-5 didn't have much power either, but it was an extremely smooth little sewing machine that was happy to rev. The basic Z3 simply had 'an engine'. In 2000, the 1.8 and the 1.9 were combined as a 1.9 with 118 hp, the 2.0 became a 2.2 with 170 hp and a 3.0 version was added with a 231 hp engine. Our example is a beautiful 3.0i with the big six-in-line under the hood coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission. In our opinion the best version you can drive for a Z3. Only 94,000 km original and in absolute top condition.
