A Porsche 911 is a driver's car par excellence. Especially if it is rear-wheel driven, equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox, a limited slip differential and a fresh chassis (four shock absorbers, steering rods, top bearings), like this 996. As icing on the cake, the Porsche is also equipped with a stainless steel exhaust system, which makes the boxer block not only sound phenomenal at high revs, but also breathe better.
The 996 has the typical nimbleness on the front axle, and unprecedented traction on the rear. Driving this version is still wonderfully pure, analogue and full of feeling, not masked by electronic power steering and stability systems.
The Porsche has not lacked anything in recent years and has enjoyed its maintenance at renowned specialists, using original Porsche parts. The IMS bearing has been replaced by an improved ceramic bearing and also timing chains and guides have been renewed. The cooling system was checked and found to be good and of course fresh coolant was added. The alternator and ground cables have been renewed, the front brakes have hardly been braked in. The previous owners have kept a documentation in which all of this can be found, even receipts for windscreen wipers.
